Special Tools Required
Ball joint remover, 28 m m 07MAC-SL0A202
1. Remove the lock pin (A) f r o m the upper a r m ball
joint, and loosen the nut (B).
NOTE: During installation, install the new lock pin
after tightening the nut as s h o w n .

2. Disconnect the upper a r m ball joint f r o m the
knuckle using the special tool (see page 18-12).
3. Remove the brake hose m o u n t i n g bracket (A). Do
not disconnect the brake line.
4. Remove the wheel sensor harness m o u n t i n g
bracket (B).
5. Remove the flange bolt (A), and remove the upper
a r m (B).

6. Install the upper arm in the reverse order of
r e m o v a l , and note these items:
• Be careful not to damage the ball joint boot w h e n
connecting the upper a r m t o the knuckle.
• Tighten all m o u n t i n g hardware to the specified
torque values.
• Tighten the castle nut t o t h e lower torque
specification, then tighten it only far enough to
align the slot w i t h the hole in the stud. Do not
align the castle nut by loosening it.
• Before installing the w h e e l , clean the mating
surface on the brake disc and inside of the w h e e l .
• Check the wheel alignment, and adjust it if
necessary (see page 18-7).
