13. Connect PCM connector B (24P).
14. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
15. Measure the voltage between output shaft
(countershaft) speed sensor connector terminal
No. 2 and body g r o u n d .

Wire side of f e m a l e t e r m i n a l s
Is there about 5 V?
YES—Replace the output shaft (countershaft)
speed sensor (see page 14-223), then go to step 19.
NO—Go to step 16.
16. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
17. Disconnect PCM connector B (24P).
18. Check for continuity between PCM connector
terminal B19 and output shaft (countershaft) speed
sensor connector t e r m i n a l No. 2.

Is there coutituity?
YES—Update the PCM if it does not have the latest
software, or substitute a k n o w n - g o o d PCM
(see page 14-7), then recheck. If the s y m p t o m /
indication goes away w i t h a k n o w n - g o o d PCM,
replace the original PCM. •
NO—Repair an open in the w i r e between PCM
connector terminal B19 and the output shaft
(countershaft) speed sensor, then go to step 19.
19. Clear the DTC w i t h the HDS.
20. Test-drive the vehicle for several minutes in the D
position in all five gears.
2 1 . Monitor the OBD status for P0723 in the DTCs/
Freeze Data in A/T M o d e M e n u for a pass/fail.
Does the result indicate a pass?
YES—The p r o b l e m has been corrected. •
NO—Return to step 4 and recheck.
