8. Remove the stop ring f r o m the driveshaft.
9. W r a p the splines on the driveshaft w i t h vinyl tape
(A) to prevent damage to the boot.
10. Remove the outboard boot. Be careful not to
damage the boot.
11. Remove the vinyl tape.
Special Tools Required
Bearing separator 07KAF-PS30200
Band type
1. Remove the inboard joint (see page 16-5).
2. Remove the dynamic d a m p e r bands. Be careful not
to damage the dynamic damper (see page 16-5).
• If the band is a w e l d e d type, cut the band.
• If the band is a double loop type, lift up the band
end, and push it into the clip.
• If the band is a l o w profile type, pinch the band
using c o m m e r c i a l l y available boot band pincers.
3. W r a p the splines on the driveshaft w i t h vinyl tape
(A) to prevent damage to the dynamic damper.
4. Remove the dynamic damper. Be careful not to
damage the dynamic damper.
5. Adjust the position of the new d y n a m i c d a m p e r to
these measurements.
Left driveshaft: 2 7 0 - 2 7 4 m m ( 1 0 . 6 3 - 1 0 . 7 9 in.)
Right driveshaft: 283—287 m m ( 1 1 . 1 4 - 1 1 . 3 0 in.)
