D T C T r o u b l e s h o o t i n g ( c o n t ' d )
DTC P0A3C (39): Motor Power Inverter (MPI)
Module Overheating
NOTE: If the IPU module fan duct is blocked, DTC
P0A3C m a y be detected.
1. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
2. Check for Temporary DTCs or DTCs w i t h the HDS.
Is DTC P1448 indicated?
Y E S — D o the troubleshooting for DTC P1448
(see page 12-93).
NO—Go to step 3.
3. Check the MPI MDL TEMP, in the DATA LIST w i t h
the HDS.
Is more than 212 °F (100 °C) indicated?
Y E S — G o to step 4.
NO—Intermittent failure, system is OK at this t i m e .
Check for block at the IPU m o d u l e fan inlet duct. •
4. Check the IPU m o d u l e air duct or IPU module fan
for disconnecting, damage or obstructions, and IPU
lid for installation.
Is the IPU module air duct, IPU module fan, or IPU
lid OK?
7. Check for T e m p o r a r y DTCs or DTCs w i t h the HDS.
Are any Temporary DTCs or DTCs indicated?
Y E S — I f DTC P16C3 is indicated, check for poor
connections or loose t e r m i n a l s at the DC-DC
converter and the M C M , then go to step 1. If any
other T e m p o r a r y DTCs or DTCs are indicated, go to
the indicated D T C s t r o u b l e s h o o t i n g .
NO—Troubleshooting is complete. •
YES—Replace the MPI m o d u l e (see page 12-144),
then go to step 5.
NO—Repairthe IPU m o d u l e air duct, IPU m o d u l e
fan, or IPU lid as necessary, then go t o step 5.
5. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
6. Reset the M C M (see page 12-6).
