1. Relieve the fuel pressure (see page 11-354).
2. Check the fuel quick-connect fitting (A) for dirt, and
clean it if needed.
3. Place a rag or shop t o w e l over the quick-connect
fitting.
Hold the connector (A) w i t h one hand, and squeeze
the retainer tabs (B) w i t h the other hand to release
t h e m f r o m the locking tabs (C). Pull the connector
off.
NOTE:
• Be careful not to damage the line (D) or other
parts. Do not use tools.
• If the connector does not m o v e , keep the retainer
tabs pressed d o w n , and alternately pull and push
the connector until it comes off easily.
• Do not remove the retainer f r o m the line; once
r e m o v e d , the retainer must be replaced w i t h a
new one.
4. Check the contact area (A) of the line (B) for dirt or
damage.
• If it is dirty, clean it.
• If it is rusty or d a m a g e d , replace the fuel p u m p ,
fuel filter, or fuel feed line.
