Special Tools Required
Front hub dis/assembly tool 07965-SA50500
1. Remove the boot f r o m the tie-rod end, and w i p e the
old grease off the ball pin.
2. Pack the lower area of the ball pin (A) w i t h fresh
multipurpose grease.
3. Pack the interior of the new boot (R) and lip (C) w i t h
fresh m u l t i p u r p o s e grease.
Note these items w h e n installing new grease:
• Keep grease off the boot m o u n t i n g area (D) and
the tapered section (E) of the ball pin.
• Do not allow dust, dirt, or other foreign materials
to enter the boot.
4. Install the new boot (A) using the special t o o l . The
boot must not have a gap at the boot installation
sections (B). After installing the boot, check the ball
pin tapered section for grease c o n t a m i n a t i o n , and
w i p e it if necessary.

1. Remove the steering gearbox (see page 17-47).
2. Position the 34 m m socket w r e n c h (A) on the flange
part of the gearbox housing w i t h a washer (B),
10 x 105 m m flange bolt (C) and the 10 m m nut (D)
as s h o w n .
3. Hold the nut w i t h a w r e n c h , and tighten the flange
bolt w i t h another w r e n c h . Remove the gearbox
m o u n t cushion (E).
4. A p p l y a m i l d soap and water solution to the new
gearbox m o u n t cushion surface (A), then place it on
the gearbox m o u n t i n g cushion hole.
5. Position the 34 m m socket w r e n c h on the flange
part of the gearbox housing w i t h a washer, flange
bolt, and the nut as s h o w n .
6. Install the gearbox m o u n t cushion by tightening the
nut until the m o u n t cushion edges (B) properly fit
on the gearbox flange surface.
