DTC U0100 (55): Motor Control Module
(MCM) Lost Communication with PCM
1. Connect the HDS (see page 11-3).
2. Turn the ignition switch ON (II), and read the HDS.
Does the HDS communicate with the PCM?
YES—Go to step 3.
NO—Go to "DLC Circuit T r o u b l e s h o o t i n g "
(see page 11-137). If no p r o b l e m is f o u n d in the DLC
t r o u b l e s h o o t i n g .
3. Check for T e m p o r a r y DTCs or DTCs of the PGM-FI
system w i t h the HDS.
Is DTC U0037 indicated?
YES — D o the troubleshooting for DTC U0037
(see page 11-180).
N O — G o t o step 4.
4. Reset the M C M (see page 12-6).
5. Check for T e m p o r a r y DTCs or DTCs w i t h the HDS.
Is DTC U0100 indicated?
Y E S — G o t o step 6.
NO—Intermittent failure, system is OK at this t i m e .
Check for poor connections or loose terminals at
the PCM and the M C M . B
6. Check for T e m p o r a r y DTCs or DTCs of the PGM-FI
system w i t h the HDS.
Are DTC U1201, U0110, and U0164 indicated at
same time?
YES—Go to step 7.
N O — G o t o step 15.
7. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
8. Turn the battery module switch OFF (see page 12-4).
9. Remove the IPU lid (see page 12-140).
10. Disconnect M C M connector A (31P).
11. J u m p the SCS line w i t h the HDS.
12. Disconnect PCM connector D (17P).
13. Disconnect the A/C compressor driver 4P connector.
14. Connect PCM connector terminals D13 and D1 to
body g r o u n d w i t h a j u m p e r w i r e individually.
