7. Remove the 6 m m brake disc retaining screws (A).
8. Screw t w o 8 x 1.25 m m bolts (B) into the disc to
push it away f r o m the hub. Turn each bolt t w o turns
at a t i m e to prevent cocking the disc excessively.
9. Remove the brake disc (C) f r o m the hub.
10. Remove the cotter pin (A) f r o m the tie-rod end ball
joint, and loosen the nut (B).
NOTE: During installation, install the new cotter pin
after tightening the nut, and bend its end as s h o w n .
11. Disconnect the tie-rod end ball joint f r o m the
knuckle using the special tool (see page 18-12).
12. Remove the cotter pin (A) f r o m the lower arm ball
joint, and loosen the nut (B).
NOTE:
• To avoid damaging the ball joint, install the
special tool on the threads of the ball joint.
• Be carefull not to damage the ball joint boot
w h e n installing the remover.
• Do not force or h a m m e r on the lower a r m , or pry
between the lower a r m and the knuckle. You
could damage the ball joint.
• Insert the new cotter pin into the ball joint pin
hole f r o m the front to the rear of the vehicle, and
bend its end as s h o w n .
7 8 - 8 8 N m
( 8 . 0 - 9 . 0 k g f m , 5 8 - 6 5 Ibf-ft)
13. Disconnect the lower a r m ball joint f r o m the lower
a r m using the special tools (see page 18-12).
