34. Move the steering gearbox t o w a r d the front, and
remove the pinion shaft g r o m m e t (A) f r o m the top
of the torque sensor (B).

35. A p p l y vinyl tape (C) to the splines on the pinion
shaft.
36. Move the steering gearbox to the driver's side, and
rotate it so the pinion shaft (A) points t o w a r d the
front of the vehicle.
37. Carefully m o v e the steering gearbox (A) as an
assembly t o w a r d the driver's side of the vehicle
until the pinion shaft clears the w h e e l w e l l opening.
Be careful not to damage the brake lines w i t h the
pinion shaft.
38. Remove the gearbox t h r o u g h the w h e e l w e l l
opening on the driver's side.
Be careful not to damage these parts due to
interference w i t h the edge of the w h e e l w e l l
opening w h e n extracting and inserting the steering
gearbox.
• Torque sensor housing
• Boots
• Serrations of the pinion shaft
• M o t o r 2P connector
• Tie-rod end ball joint boots
