28. Remove the j u m p e r w i r e f r o m the EGR valve 6P
connector.
29. Check for continuity between EGR valve 6P
connector terminal No. 6 and body g r o u n d .

Is there continuity?
Y E S — G o t o step 30.
NO—Repair open in the w i r e between the EGR
valve and G101, then go to step 44.
30. Reconnect PCM connectors B (24P) and C (22P).
3 1 . Connect the positive battery t e r m i n a l to EGR valve
6P connector terminal No. 4 w i t h a j u m p e r w i r e .

32. Start the engine and let it idle, then connect the
negative battery t e r m i n a l to EGR valve 6P
connector terminal No. 6 w i t h a j u m p e r w i r e .
Does the engine stall or run rough?
Y E S - G o t o step 5 1 .
N O — G o t o step 33.
33. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
34. Remove the EGR valve (see page 11-404).
35. Clean the intake m a n i f o l d EGR port w i t h throttle
plate and induction cleaner. Also, clean the
passage inside the EGR valve w i t h throttle plate
and induction cleaner.
36. Install the EGR valve (see page 11-404).
37. Reconnect the EGR valve 6P connector.
38. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
39. Reset the PCM w i t h the HDS.
40. Do the PCM idle learn procedure (see page 11-340).
4 1 . Do the EGR TEST in the INSPECTION MENU w i t h
the HDS.
Is the result OK ?
Y E S — G o t o step 49.
N O — G o t o step 42.
