44. Measure the voltage between PCM connector
terminals C19 and A3 or D16 in all positions other
than D, D3, and 2.

Is there battery voltage?
Y E S — G o t o step 50.
NO—Go to step 45.
45. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
46. J u m p the SCS line w i t h the HDS.
47. Disconnect PCM connector C (22P).
48. Disconnect the transmission range switch
connector.
49. Check for continuity between PCM connector
terminal C19 and body g r o u n d .

Is there continuity?
YES—Repair a short in the w i r e between PCM
connector terminal C19 and the transmission range
switch, then go to step 56.
NO—Update the PCM if it does not have the latest
software, or substitute a k n o w n - g o o d PCM
(see page 14-7), then recheck. If the s y m p t o m /
indication goes away w i t h a k n o w n - g o o d PCM,
replace the original PCM. •
