T h r o t t l e C a b l e R e m o v a l / I n s t a l l a t i o n
1. Remove the throttle cable cover (see page 11-384).
2. Fully open the throttle valve, then remove the
throttle cable (A) f r o m the throttle link (B).
3. Remove the cable housing (C) f r o m the cable
bracket (D).
4. Remove the throttle cable (A) f r o m the accelerator
pedal (B).
5. | Install the cable in the reverse order of removal.

6. j Start the engine. Hold the engine speed at
i 3,000 r p m w i t h o u t load (in Park or neutral) until the
radiator fan comes on, then let it idle.
7. Hold the cable, r e m o v i n g all slack f r o m it.
8. Set the cable on the bracket (A).
Adjust the adjusting nut (B) so that its free play is
0 m m .
There s h o u l d be
9. Position the adjusting nut on the other side of the
bracket, then tighten the locknut (C).
10. Check the throttle cable free play (see step 2 on
page 11-384).
11. W i t h the cable properly adjusted, check the throttle
link to be sure it opens fully w h e n y o u push the
i accelerator pedal to the floor. Also check the
| throttle valve to be sure it returns whenever y o u
! release the accelerator pedal.
