Mirror Holder Replacement (cont'd)
Mirror Housing Cover Replacement
6. If either of the actuator boots (A) is hard to adjust
its position because the t o p of the boot is d o w n on
the actuator rod (B) and it was t u r n e d inside out,
disassemble the mirror actuator assembly to reset
the turned boots on the rod, then reassemble t h e m :
- 1 Remove the m o u n t i n g screw (C).
- 2 Remove the washer (D), the spring (E), the lock
cap (F) and the inner holder (G) w i t h the boots
f r o m the actuator (H).
- 3 If necessary, remove the boots.
- 4 Stretch the turned boot, and put it on the rod
entirely. Take care not to tear or damage either
of the boots. It is irreplaceble.
- 5 Reinstall the r e m o v e d parts, then secure t h e m
w i t h the screw.
NOTE: Make sure each actuator rod is inserted
to the actuator securely, and each actuator
boot is fully seated on the actuator.
7. If equipped, reconnect the m i r r o r defogger
connectors.
8. Reattach the hooks of the mirror holder to the
actuator, then position the m i r r o r holder on the
actuator. Carefully push on the clip portions of the
m i r r o r holder until the m i r r o r holder locks into
place.
9. Check the actuator operation.
1. Remove the mirror holder (see page 20-29).
2. From the mirror holder o p e n i n g , release the hooks
(A) of the mirror housing cover (B).
3. Release the hooks (A), then remove the mirror
housing cover (B).
4. Install the mirror housing cover in the reverse order
of removal.
