8.5 TRACEROUTE
8.5.1 Introduction
The TRACEROUTE command is used to trace all intermediate nodes (or hops) that a packet traverses from the source IP
address up to just before it can reach the user-specified destination IP address. It displays the DNS resolvable names and IP
addresses of these routers' (hops) IP addresses and the round-trip times to each of the intermediate nodes.
TRACEROUTE can be used as a diagnostic and troubleshooting tool to examine traffic flows or to determine network bot-
tlenecks (places where traffic gets lost or delayed).

Audit Types
Action
Runs a CRC calculation on system load files (those with .tar extension) in flash
and compares it with the CRC value in the file header. If a mismatch is detected,
it generates a log and an alarm against the CFC24.
