7.3.3 Configuring an SNMP Community

7.3.3.1 SNMP Security

Security in an SNMP community prevents unauthorized users from querying or changing the MIB variables. The
methods of providing security can affect how you configure the SNMP community and trap generation. The
three methods of providing security in an SNMP community are:
Define the community access for the device as READ only, so that even if the device is accessed, values can-
not be changed.
