Displaying Sensor Inputs at t h e Climate Control Unit
The climate control unit has a m o d e that displays sensor inputs it receives. This mode shows y o u w h a t the climate
control unit is receiving f r o m each of the sensors, one at a t i m e , and it can help y o u determine if a sensor is faulty.
Check these items before using the sensor input display mode
1. Turn the ignition switch ON (II), and check the recirculation door f u n c t i o n ; press the recirculation button to switch
f r o m FRESH to RECIRC. The air v o l u m e and sound should change slightly.
2. Set the temperature control knob to the desired test temperature. W h e n selecting the test temperature, note these
items:
• " L o " temperature setting w i l l default to M A X COOL, VENT, and RECIRC.
• " H i " temperature setting w i l l default to M A X HOT, FLOOR, and FRESH.
• 58 t h r o u g h 86 °F settings w i l l use the automatic climate control logic.
3. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
To run the sensor input display mode, follow these steps
1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2. Press and hold both the A U T O and DUAL buttons, then start the engine.
3. After the engine starts, release the buttons. The audio-HVAC display panel w i l l flash the sensor number and then
the value for that sensor. Record the value displayed.
4. To advance to the next sensor, press the rear w i n d o w defogger button.

NOTE:
• The sensor values w i l l be displayed in degrees Celsius (°C) or an alphanumeric code. Use the chart to convert
the value to degrees Fahrenheit (°F).
• If the sensor value displays " E r " , this indicates there is an open or short in the circuit or sensor. Check for DTCs
using the HDS, or refer to checking DTCs by DTC indication to check for DTCs.
• If necessary, compare the sensor input display to an alike, k n o w n - g o o d vehicle under the same test conditions.
• If the sensor is out of the n o r m a l range, refer to the sensor test or substitute w i t h a k n o w n - g o o d sensor, and
recheck.
5. To cancel the sensor input display m o d e , press the A U T O button or turn the ignition switch off.
