Development
– Insert valve into valve guide. The end of the valve stem should
be flush with the guide. The diameter of the valve stems varies:
the inlet valves only fit the inlet guides and the outlet valves
only fit the outlet guides.
– Determine rock.
Wear limit
Inlet valve guide
0.80 mm
Note
If the wear limit is exceeded, redo the measurement using new

valves. If the wear limit is still exceeded, replace the cylinder
head
If the valve is to be renewed as part of a repair, use a new
♦
valve for the calculation.
