Climate Control
P o w e r T r a n s i s t o r T e s t
1. Remove the passenger's dashboard under cover
(see page 20-72).
2. Disconnect the 4P connector f r o m the power
transistor.
3. Measure the resistance between the No. 3 and
No. 4 terminals of the power transistor. It should be
about 1.5 kQ.
• If the resistance is w i t h i n the specifications, go to
step 3.
• If the resistance is not w i t h i n the specifications,
replace the power transistor.
POWER T R A N S I S T O R
4. Carefully release the lock tab on the No. 1 terminal
(LT GRN) (A) in the 4P connector, then remove the
terminal and insulate it f r o m body ground.
(To 12 V power source on vehicle)
5. Reconnect the 4P connector to the power transistor.
6. Make sure the LT GRN w i r e is completely isolated,
then supply 12 V to the No. 1 cavity w i t h a j u m p e r
wire.
7. Turn the ignition switch ON (IS), and check that the
blower motor runs.
• If the blower m o t o r does not run, replace the
power transistor.
• If the blower m o t o r runs, the power transistor is
OK.
