3. Set the temperature control dial to Max Cool (LO)
w i t h the ignition switch ON (II).
4. Attach the heater valve cable (B) to the air mix
control linkage (C) as s h o w n step 2. Hold the end of
the heater valve cable housing against the stop (D),
then snap the heater valve cable housing into the
cable c l a m p (A).
NOTE: Insert the ring-end of the cable securely to
the linkage pin. Insert the ring over the nail, making
sure it is correctly attached.
5. From under the hood, turn the heater valve arm (C)
to the fully closed position as s h o w n , and hold it.
Attach the heater valve cable (B) to the heater valve
a r m , and gently pull on the heater valve cable
housing to take up any slack, then install the heater
valve cable housing into the cable clamp (A).

R e p l a c e m e n t
1. W h e n the engine is cool, drain the engine coolant
f r o m the radiator (see page 10-6).
2. Disconnect the connector (A). Remove the
connector clip (B). Slide the hose clamps (C) back,
then disconnect the hoses (D) f r o m the auxiliary
electric water p u m p . Remove the nuts and lower
bracket (E).
NOTE: Engine coolant will run out w h e n the hoses
are disconnected; drain it into a clean drip pan. Be
sure not to let coolant spill on the auxiliary
electrical parts or the painted surfaces. If any
coolant spills, rinse it off immediately.
3. Remove the bolt, the upper bracket (A), bushing (B),
and the auxiliary electric water p u m p (C).
