ACAUTION
• Air conditioning refrigerant or lubricant vapor
can irritate your eyes, nose, or throat.
• Be careful w h e n connecting service equipment.
• Do not breathe refrigerant or vapor.
NOTE:
• If accidental system discharge occurs, ventilate w o r k
area before resuming service.
• Additional health and safety information may be
obtained f r o m the refrigerant and lubricant
manufacturers.
1. A d d the same a m o u n t of new refrigerant oil to the
system that w a s removed during recovery. Use
only SANDEN SE-10Y refrigerant oil. Using the
w r o n g refrigerant oil can be a safety hazard
(see page 21-6).
NOTE: A d d the refrigerant oil to the suction port of
the compressor only. A d d i n g refrigerant oil w i t h a
refrigerant recovery/recycling/charging station may
cause oil contamination.
2. Connect an R-134a refrigerant recovery/recycling/
charging station (A) to the high-pressure service
port (B) and the low-pressure service port (C), as
s h o w n , f o l l o w i n g the e q u i p m e n t manufacturer's
instructions.
3. Evacuate the system (see page 21-104).
4. Charge the system w i t h the specified a m o u n t of
R-134a refrigerant. Do not overcharge the system;
the A/C compressor will be d a m a g e d .
Select the appropriate units of measure for your
refrigerant charging station.
Refrigerant capacity:
500 to 550 g
0.50 to 0.55 kg
1.1 to 1.2 lbs
17.6 to 19.4 oz
5. Check for refrigerant leaks (see page 21-106).
6. Check for system performance (see page 21-107).
