3 1 . T u r n the ignition switch OFF.
32. Check for continuity between the No. 3 terminal of
the blower motor relay 4P socket and body g r o u n d .

Is there
continuity?
YES—Repair open in the WHT/BLU w i r e between
the blower m o t o r relay and the blower m o t o r . •
NO—Check for an open in the w i r e between the
blower motor relay and body g r o u n d . If the w i r e is
OK, check for poor g r o u n d at G 3 0 2 . B
DTC B2989 or DTC indicator W: A Problem in
the A/C Compressor Motor
1. Check the No. 29 (7.5 A) fuse in the under-dash
fuse/relay box.
Is the fuse
OK?
Y E S — G o t o step 2.
NO—Replace the fuse, and r e c h e c k . •
2. Stop the engine for at least 1 hour.
3. Clear the DTC by t u r n i n g the ignition switch OFF,
and then ON (II).
4. Operate the climate control system in several
modes.
5. Check for DTCs using the HDS or self-diagnostic.
Is DTC B2989 or W
indicated?
Y E S — G o t o step 6.
NO—Intermittent failure. •
6. Check for DTCs using the HDS or self-diagnostic.
Is DTC B2998 or Z
indicated?
YES—Go to the t r o u b l e s h o o t i n g DTC B2998 or DTC
indicator Z (see page 21-61). •
NO—Stop the A/C compressor m o t o r for
refrigerant pressure a b n o r m a l l y high. Substitute a
k n o w n - g o o d A/C compressor, and recheck. If the
s y m p t o m / i n d i c a t i o n goes away, replace the
original A/C compressor (see page 21-92). •
