ACAUTION
• Air conditioning refrigerant or lubricant vapor
can irritate your eyes, nose, or throat.
• Be careful w h e n connecting service equipment.
• Do not breathe refrigerant or vapor.
NOTE:
• If accidental system discharge occurs, ventilate w o r k
area before resuming service.
• A d d i t i o n a l health and safety i n f o r m a t i o n may be
obtained f r o m the refrigerant and lubricant
manufacturers.
1. Connect an R-134a refrigerant recovery/recycling/
charging station (A) to the high-pressure service
port (B) and the low-pressure service port (C), as
s h o w n , f o l l o w i n g the e q u i p m e n t manufacturer's
instructions.
2. Open high pressure valve to charge the system to
the specified capacity, then close the supply valve,
and disconnect the charging station fittings.
Select the appropriate units of measure for your
refrigerant charging station.
Refrigerant capacity:
500 to 550 g
0.50 to 0.55 kg
1.1 to 1.2 lbs
17.6 to 19.4 oz
3. Check the system for leaks using an R-134a
refrigerant leak detector w i t h an accuracy of 14 g
(0.5 oz) per year or better.
4. If you find leaks that require the system to be
opened (to repair or replace hoses, fittings, etc.),
recover the system.
5. After checking and repairing leaks, the system
must be evacuated.
