Multiplex Integrated Control System (MICS)
Combination Switch Control Unit Input Test
1. Remove the steering c o l u m n covers (see page 17-9).
2. Disconnect the 8P connector f r o m the wiper/washer switch (see page 22-219).

3. Inspect the connector and socket terminals to be sure they are all making g o o d contact.
• If the terminals are bent, loose or corroded, repair t h e m as necessary, and recheck the system.
• If the terminals look OK, go to step 4.
4. W i t h the control unit still disconnected, make these input tests at the connector.
• If any test indicates a p r o b l e m , f i n d and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
• If all the input tests prove OK, the combination switch control unit must be faulty, replace the wiper/washer
switch.
