Ignition Switch
T e s t
SRS c o m p o n e n t s are located in this area. Review the
SRS c o m p o n e n t locations (see page 24-11) and the
precautions and procedures (see page 24-13) before
p e r f o r m i n g repairs or service.
1. Make sure you have the anti-theft code for the radio
and the navigation system, then w r i t e d o w n the
customer's audio presets.
2. Connect the HDS to the date link connector (DLC),
and g r o u n d the SCS.
3. Disconnect the battery negative cable.
4. Remove the left front door sill t r i m and left kick
panel (see page 20-45).
5. Disconnect the 6P connector f r o m the under-dash
fuse/relay box.
6. Check for continuity between the t e r m i n a l s in each
switch position according to the table.

7. If the continuity checks do not agree w i t h the table,
replace the steering lock.
8. After reconnecting the battery, enter the anti-theft
code for the radio and the navigation system, then
enter the customer's audio presets.
9. If the IMA battery level gauge (BAT) displays no
segments, start the engine, and hold it between
3,500 r p m and 4,000 r p m w i t h o u t load (in Park or
neutral) until the BAT displays at least three
segments.
10. Do the power w i n d o w control unit reset procedure
(see page 22-200).
