DTC B1177: Abnormal Battery Voltage (7.5 V)
1. Clear the DTCs using the HDS.
2. Cycle the ignition switch to OFF and then back ON.
3. Check the DTCs by selecting the DTCs MENU
(DTCs) f r o m the HDS.
Is DTCB1177
indicated?
YES—Go to step 5.
NO—Go to step 4.
4. Crank the engine.
Is DTC B1177
indicated?
YES—Go to step 5.
NO—Intermittent failure. The gauge control
module and power supply voltage (IG 1) that is
supplied to the gauge control module are OK at this
t i m e . H
5. Check the battery (see page 22-71), and the
charging system.
Is the battery
condition
and the charging
system
normal?
Y E S — G o t o step 6.
NO—Abnormal battery condition w h i c h needs a
recharge or replacement, or a charging system
r e p a i r . •
6. W i t h the gauge control module 30P connector still
connected, turn the ignition switch to O N , and
check for voltage between the No. 5 terminal and
body g r o u n d .

Y E S — G o t o step 7.
NO—Repair an open or high resistance in the YEL
wire between the gauge control m o d u l e and under-
dash fuse/relay b o x . B
7. Check for voltage between the No. 5 and No. 21
terminals.

YES—Faulty gauge control m o d u l e ; Replace the
gauge control module (see page 22-235). •
NO—Repair an open or high resistance in the BLK
w i r e between the gauge control module and
g r o u n d . •
