G a u g e C o n t r o l M o d u l e
R e p l a c e m e n t
1. Remove the instrument panel (see page 20-66),
then remove the upper c o l u m n cover (see page
17-9).
2. Place a clean shop t o w e l (A) under the gauge
control module to prevent scratching the steering
c o l u m n or dash panel.
3. Remove the screws f r o m the gauge control m o d u l e
(B).
4. Disconnect the 30P connector (C), and remove the
gauge control module.
5. Install the gauge control m o d u l e in the reverse
order of removal.
R e w r i t i n g t h e O D O D a t a o n a N e w
G a u g e C o n t r o l M o d u l e
NOTE:
• If the HDS retrieves the ODO data f r o m the gauge
control m o d u l e , the ODO value on the ODO/TRIP
display w i l l appear as "
" , making the ODO
function unusable, and the HDS w i l l be unable to
retrieve additional ODO values.
• Rewriting is not possible on a gauge control m o d u l e
that does not c o m m u n i c a t e .
• Obtain a new gauge control module before starting
the rewriting process.
1. Before replacing the gauge control m o d u l e ,
connect the HDS to the data link connector.
2. Select GAUGES A N D INDICATORS f r o m the HDS
menu display.
3. Select " O D O REWRITE" f r o m the A D J U S T M E N T S
menu display, and f o l l o w the instructions on the
menu display to retrieve the ODO value.
4. Replace the gauge control m o d u l e .
5. Follow the instructions on the m e n u display to
write the n e w ODO value to the new gauge control
module.
