1. Remove the steering c o l u m n covers (see page
17-9).
2. Disconnect the cable reel 13P connector (A) f r o m
the dashboard w i r e harness.

Using a j u m p e r w i r e , connect the No. 1 terminal of
the dashboard w i r e harness 13P connector to body
ground.
• If the horns s o u n d , go to step 4.
• If the horns don't s o u n d , check these items:
- No. 13 (20 A) fuse in the under-hood
fuse/relay box.
- Relay control m o d u l e in the under-hood
fuse/relay box.
- Horns (see page 22-152).
- An open in the w i r e .
4. Reconnect the cable reel 13P connector (A) to the
dashboard w i r e harness.
5. Remove the driver's airbag assembly (see page
24-139), and disconnect the horn switch I P positive
terminal f r o m the cable reel (B).
6. Using a j u m p e r w i r e , connect the cable reel side 1P
connector (C) to body g r o u n d , and turn the wheel
side to side.
• If the horns sound, replace the driver's airbag
assembly.
• If the horns don't sound or sounds intermittently,
replace the cable reel.
