Those fields marked with an asterisk (*) indicates that the system does not set the
*MAC Address (Device ID for IP softphone): The MAC Address/Devices ID field
displays the MAC address/Devices ID that was programmed when the device was
assigned a circuit. If desired, you can edit the address. To edit the address, click the
existing address. The Edit MAC Address/Devices ID dialog box appears. Enter the new
address (do not include the colons) and click
NOTE:
The Device ID functions similarly to the MAC address, but because the ID of
the IP Softphone is not tied to a specific Network Interface Card (NIC) on the user's PC,
the ID will not be a MAC address.
*Hostname: The hostname is used to identify the IP device on the network. Enter a
hostname, up to 15 characters, in the text box provided. Then press
another field to save the changes. By default, this is blank.
*Static IP Address: If the IP device will not receive an address from a BOOTP or
DHCP server, you must identify a static IP address. To enter the address, click the cur-
rent Value. The Edit Static IP Address dialog box appears. Enter the IP address (do not
include the periods) and click
*Static Gateway: The Static Gateway field identifies the IP address of the gateway that
is used to access the port. To enter the address, click the current Value. The Edit Static
Gateway Address dialog box appears. Enter the IP address (do not include the periods)
and click . By default, this is 192.168.200.201.

*Static Subnet Mask: The Static Subnet Mask identifies the subnet where the IP
device resides. To enter the address, click the current Value. The Edit Static Subnet
Mask dialog box appears. Enter the address (do not include the periods) and click

NOTE:
If the IP device is programmed to receive an IP address from a BOOTP or
DHCP server, the Static IP Address, Static Gateway, and Static Subnet fields display a
red X and do not affect device programming.
*Static WINS Server: The Static WINS Server field identifies the IP address of the
Windows Internet Naming Service (WINS) server that the device uses for name resolu-
tion. To enter the address, click the current Value. The Edit Static WINS Server dialog
box appears. Enter the address (do not include the periods) and click

*IP Address Assignment: BOOTP or DHCP: The BOOTP and DHCP flags deter-
mine whether the system will allocate a dynamic IP address to the IP device. If these
