You can use specialized hardware to configure a smaller Inter-Tel system. Sometimes
CPC64 or CPU64: These CPU cards support up to 64 devices in a single-chassis con-
figuration. Each has all of the features of the CPU128 card. You can use multiple T1/E1
cards with the CPC64 or CPU64 (one of which can be PRI-equipped). It can be used
with any of the power supplies or voice mail options and it can be used as a node in an
Inter-Tel network.
NOTE:
Versions 8.0 and later require a CPC for CPU64 systems.
Embedded Voice Mail Card (EVMC) and DSPM Card: When installed in the equip-
ment chassis, this OS/2-based voice mail card, equipped with one DSPM Card, will
provide four Voice Processing Unit ports. With an additional DSPM Card attached, it
provides eight ports. It can support 32, 64, or 200 mailboxes, depending on the PAL
installed (see
page D-5
for part numbers) and its 2.0 Gigabyte hard drive will support
up to 180 hours of voice messages. The EVMC supports AMIS networking and data-
base saves to a zip or floppy drive. It does not support Fax-On-Demand and Unified
Messaging. It can be used only with the new 4-amp or the standard 9-amp power sup-
ply.
NOTE:
The 32- and 64-mailbox PALs can be used only with the CPC64 or CPU64.
The 200-mailbox PAL requires system software version later than 5.270, but it can be
used with any CPC or CPU. Currently, the 4-port EVMC is shipped with the 32-mailbox
PAL.
4-Amp Power Supply: This power supply will support any combination of Inter-Tel
circuit cards, up to the 4-amp limit. It can be used with any CPU and any voice mail
platform (EVMC or Windows-based Voice Processing Unit).
All of the standard system circuit cards can be used in the CPU64 configuration, as long
