2. CPC
2.1
This section describes the CPCs.
A. SPECIFICATION
2.2
Version 8.0 and later software support a new CPU card called the Call Processing Card
(CPC). This card, which replaces the CPU64, CPU128, and CPU256 cards, uses a software
license that allows you to upgrade the capacity of the system without having to replace the card
(see
page 5-11

PAL. In addition, the CPC does not require an attached PCM card because the CPC houses the
typical PCM functionality and hardware. See

(CP) Server (Windows NT- or 2000-based CPU) is required. To use version 8.0 or later software
on 64, 128, or 256 systems, the CPC is required.
2.3
Features of the CPC include the following:
IP Port (10/100 Base-T): Provides IP connections directly to the system, which is sim-
ilar to the functionality of the IP port found on the CP Server. In addition, you can use
the IP Port to upload Call Processing software, upload the software license, or program
the database. See

the Voice Processing PC or EVMC, or connects SMDR/error message output devices, a
personal computer for programming the system database, and/or a modem for remote

Security is the responsibility of the customer's network administrator. Inter-Tel is not
responsible for network problems due to security violations involving the IP address
exposure of the CPC. This includes, but is not limited to, interrupted network service.
Recommendations remain to place the CPC in a private IP network. In addition,
Inter-Tel recommends that you install the CPC behind a firewall or Network Address
Translation (NAT) box.

The system can have a maximum of 32 RS232 ports for system services. This
