3. CPU64 CARD
3.1
This section describes CPU64 Cards.
A. SPECIFICATIONS
3.2
The CPU64 card is identical to the CPU128 Card, except that it only supports up to 64
devices and it can be used only in a single-chassis system. Like the CPU128, the CPU64 Card
uses flash memory circuitry.
NOTE:
3.3
The CPU64 can be used with the 4-amp, 6-amp (U.S. only), or 9-amp power supplies.
3.4
The CPU64 can be used with any of the voice mail platforms (EVMC or Windows-
based Voice Processing Unit).
NOTE:
based Voice Processing PC.
3.5
If any T1/E1 Cards are to be installed in an equipment chassis using the CPU64 Card
configuration, a single Network Clock Card must also be installed. Then, instead of using the
clock circuitry on the CPU Card, the NCC becomes the clock for the entire system. The NCC
provides the smooth, error-free clock transitions required for T1/E1 applications. You can use
only one PRI-equipped card with the CPU64.
3.6
The CPU64 Card can be used in a node in an Inter-Tel network. However, the node
should not be a hub and its voice mail system should not support any other nodes.
3.7
The CPU64 Card contains the following system resources (see
17):
DB15 PCM connector (15-pin D-subminiature female connector) for connecting the
first eight ports to the EVMC or the Audio Interface Card (AIC) in the Voice Processing
PC.
RS232 jacks (three 8-pin, 8-conductor modular jacks) for connecting to the EVMC's or
Voice Processing PC's RS232 port, or for connecting SMDR/error message output
devices, a personal computer for programming the system database, and/or a modem
for remote programming/maintenance.
NOTE:
includes the RS232 ports on the CPU Card, Options Card(s), and PC Data Port Mod-
ules. If an Inter-Tel Voice Processing PC is installed, at least one of the system RS232
ports must be dedicated to it.
LED indicators show main processor operation (CPU ACTIVE - green), database in
default state due to error (DATABASE ERROR - red), minor system alarms (MINOR
ALARM - yellow), external clock activity (EXTERNAL CLOCK ACTIVE - green),
and database back-up battery connection (BATTERY OFF - red). See TROUBLE-
SHOOTING for detailed LED information.

Versions 8.0 and later require a CPC for CPU64 systems.
System version Beta 5.2 or later software is required if you are using the Windows-
The system can have a maximum of 11 RS232 ports for system services. This
