10.26 Key Assignment Programming: When you select Key Assignments, the right screen
shows the DSS and Keyset Options.
10.27 Keyset keymap #1 is used as a template for any new keyset keymaps that are created.
This keymap is used regardless of the type of keymap selected. For example, if keymap #1 is
an Executive Display keymap with the default Hold button programmed as a Forward button,
any newly created keymaps that have a Hold button, even Standard Display keymaps, will
reflect this change. Because keymap #1 is used as a template, do not change this keymap. The
DSS keymaps do not use a template.
10.28 To add a keymap to the list, right-click on the list and select
. A dialog box appears. Select the Starting ID and the number of keymaps (IDs) to add.

Users who have Standard and Alternate keymaps will want to have their user-program-
mable buttons in the same positions in both keymaps. That way their user-programma-
ble button locations do not change when they switch keymaps. Also, if a fixed feature
button is created for the Switch Keymap feature code, it should be in the same position
in both keymaps.
The volume adjustment button on the digital phones also can be used for scrolling
through displays. The analog phone volume buttons are used only for adjusting volume;
they need to have Up/Down or Previous/Next buttons programmed in their keymaps to
scroll through displays. They also should have an Accept button to accept entries when
in numeric programming mode.
