MANUAL VERSION 11.0 – May 2008
Message Print and SMDR: These are the simplest socket threads. They are transmit-
only sockets (from the CP Server). The CP Server will support up to ten of each type of
socket.
System Monitor: This is a socket-based diagnostic tool, used for performing diagnostic
functions that are available through various interfaces in DB Programming or from an
administrative Executive Display, Professional Display, or Model 8560 phone. It allows
an Inter-Tel engineer access to various call processing structures without the aide of a
technician on site to enter feature codes.
Socket Type: Select the desired socket type. Your options are Message Print, SMDR,
and System Monitor. When you click
connect to the CP Server.
IP Address: Enter the full IP Address or fully qualified computer name. Diag Mon will
take whatever name is entered and attempt to resolve that name to an IP Address. The
IP Address entered here should be the IP Address of the NIC on the CP Server that con-
nects to the LAN.
Password: Enter the password for the socket type selected. Passwords are programmed
in DB Programming in the Sockets Folder (System/Cabinets/Sockets). If the
socket type is not enabled, then the connection will be refused.
Window Title: Enter the socket window title that specifies the type of socket and the IP
Address to which the CP Server is connected. Although this field automatically updates
based on the selected socket type and the entered IP address, you can enter any string to
replace the default title. For example, if you are monitoring message print for several
systems, you might choose titles such as "Los Angeles—Message Print" and "Chi-
cago—Message Print." These titles may be clearer to the user than the IP Address.
IP Port: Specifies IP Port 4000 and cannot be changed.
