A. CONFIGURATION TAB
22.4 With the Configuration tab, you can program the device limit and specify the point-of-
reference for the CP Server clock.
Database device limit: Select the database device limit. Your options are dual-chassis
(256), quad-chassis (512), CP Server (1024), or ATM. This field is available when you
first install the software (or when the static_memory.mmf file has been deleted). If
you select the 1024 database option, the maximum number of devices the database can
support is increased to 1024. However, because the chassis cannot support 1024
devices, the total number of devices is limited by the hardware capacities. By default,
this is set to 512.
NOTE:
1024 database configured, you cannot revert to a 512.
Use CPU Real-Time Clock: Select this option to have the CP Server set and read the
date and time from the remote chassis rather than from the PC Clock. If disabled
(default), the CP Server reads the date and time from its PC Clock. If you select this
option, make sure the battery strap is connected on the first PCMA board (ATM Sys-
tems only).
If the PC is currently synchronizing its time with an external clock (e.g., using Windows Time
Service or some other utility), do not enable this option. Using a synchronization utility with
this option enabled may result in unpredictable clock information. For best results, have the
PC synchronize the time and disable the Use CPU Real-Time Clock option for the CP
Server.
