12. SYSTEM TIMERS AND LIMITS

12.1 There are programmable timers that control various system functions. In the Timers and
Limits programming area, you can change any or all of them.
12.2 The default values have been carefully selected to ensure proper system operation under
most circumstances. Occasionally, one or more of the timers may need to be adjusted.
12.3 To change the value of a system timer, select its current Value and enter the new value
in the text box. Then press
12.4 The timer definitions are shown below and on the following pages. A "DID [DDI in
Europe]" in the timer names indicates that the timer applies to DID [DDI] trunks only.
"DKTS" refers to phones only and "SL" applies to single-line sets only. "E&M" timers apply
only to E&M trunks (except E&M Disconnect Flash Duration). "LS" indicates a loop-start
trunk timer, "GS" refers to ground-start trunks, and "LS/GS" applies to both types. The "UCD"
timer applies only to UCD hunt groups.

MANUAL VERSION 11.0 – May 2008
Purpose
After a call has recalled to the last possible station, it
will recall until this timer expires. If it remains unan-
swered, the system will disconnect the call. (This
timer is started when the call begins recalling the first
recall station.)
The system can be programmed to send a tone to
the call parties when a supervisor joins or monitors a
call using the Agent Help feature. This timer deter-
mines how often the tone will be heard. If you set this
timer to 0, there will be a single tone when the super-
visor joins the call, if tones are enabled, but there will
not be periodic tones through out the call.
This determines how often phone date and time dis-
plays are updated.
Controls whether the agent sees the BARGE-IN IN
PROGRESS or BARGE-IN TERMINATED display
whenever a supervisor barges-in or hangs up after
barging-in.
switch or programming command, this timer starts. If
it expires, the Make-Busy LED on the card flashes
rapidly and the busyout process is canceled.
Length of time a caller hears busy tone before camp-
ing on.
Length of time between camp-on tones.
When a user reseizes a trunk, this timer determines
the length of time the system will hold the trunk open.
Limits time a station can remain off hook without dial-
ing before the system sends reorder tones.
