AXXESS
30.9 The modules—SNMP Agent DLL, Inter-Tel SNMP Watchdog Service and Inter-Tel
Call Processing—are implemented in such a way that it is unimportant as to what order the
three cooperating modules start. Each module will wait until the required initialization has
occurred before performing its tasks. Thus, you can start the three modules in any order, and
they will work correctly.
30.10 To view all the SNMP alarms/ objects on the CP Server system, you need a manage-
ment console like HP Openview. However, the MIB (Management Information Base) specific
to the CP Server (ICPSnmp.mib) needs to be loaded to the management console to access
any objects specific to the CP Server. The ICPSnmp.mib is located in the C:\ICP directory on
the CPS/ATM system. Also, add the following sentence at the end of the paragraph: For
detailed information about the trap.conf file, see Knowledge Base answer ID 2672. Also, to log
the alarms into the respective categories on the management console the configuration file
trap.conf on HP Openview needs to replaced with the Inter-Tel modified version of the
file.

MANUAL VERSION 11.0 – May 2008
COM Server (GenericSnmp.exe): This is a server that serves COM interfaces and
stores all the SNMP objects relating to the CP Server SNMP. Call Processing and the
Inter-Tel SNMP Watchdog service constantly update the values stored in GenericS-
nmp.exe throughout the lifetime of the server. To allow several processes to share the
information served by the GenericSnmp.exe server, it is configured to run under the
it_GenericSnmp administrator account created by the installation software.
Inter-Tel SNMP Watchdog Service (ICPSnmpWatchdog.exe): This is a service that
takes care of SNMP table initialization. It can be located by double clicking on the Ser-
vices Icon on the Control Panel. It is set to automatic startup mode so that it is automat-
ically started every time Windows starts up.
