chassis, the LED on the right is the status light. During power-up and before the card is armed,
this LED will blink at a rate of once per second. When the watchdog is armed, it will blink
every 0.5 second. When the board is within four seconds of resetting the PC, it will flash every
0.1 second. If the watchdog resets the PC, the LED on the left will remain lit until the Inter-Tel
Watchdog Service turns off the LED. The Watchdog Service will turn off this LED when the
PC is reset under normal circumstances or when the software resets the PC.

10. SOFTWARE SECURITY

10.1 The CP Server uses two methods of software security:

five minutes thereafter. If the key is missing, all audio is disabled, any slave chassis in a non-
ATM system is off-line, and the phone system issues alarm #122, until a valid key is attached.
If the key is replaced while system is running, the software re-enables audio and/or the appro-

Without this security key, the software license will not work.

The basic call processing software key is only issued by Inter-Tel's Project
Management team under special circumstances.
For 8.0 systems, the base software security key is part no. 827.9775.
For 6.0 and 7.0 systems, the software security key (part no. 827.9572) expands to
include governing the premium features and the other special PAL features. This key
not only replaces the standard set of security PALs, but it controls the system expansion
beyond the normal two chassis pairs.
