Backplane Call Configuration
4.57 The Backplane Call Configuration defines the backplane call configuration for the IP
connection. To configure this, double-click or expand this field and program the following:
Backplane Transmit Signal Attenuation Level: Defines the amount of audio volume
that the system removes from the audio stream. This attenuation is applied to the audio
that the IPRC receives from the IP network as the IPRC injects the audio onto the PCM
highway backplane of the system. Use the scroll box to make your selection. Then press

is 0 to 15 db.
NOTE:
Echo Suppression: If set to Yes, the system plays the conversation in half-duplex mode,
for a short period of time at the beginning of every conversation, while it adapts the
echo canceller based on audio characteristics. If set to No, you may hear strange echo
audio while the canceler adapts. By default, this is set to Yes.
Echo Suppression Sensitivity Level: Defines the threshold at which the system sup-
presses the echo from the far end at the beginning of a conversation. A value closer to
zero results in very little echo suppression (full duplex), and a value closer to 100%
results in a large amount of echo suppression (half duplex). Use the scroll box to make
your selection. Then press
default is 60%, and the range is 0% to 100%.
Echo Saturation Blocker: If set to Yes, the system plays the conversation in half-
duplex mode when the volume level becomes very loud. If set to No, the system always
plays the conversation in full-duplex mode. By default, this is set to Yes.
NOTE:
cancel echo caused by very loud or saturated audio.
Static IP Address
4.58 The Static IP Address field defines the IP connection's static IP address provided by the
IP network administrator. Changing the static IP address resets the IPRC. The system broad-
casts changes to an IP connection's IP address to the other nodes in the private network as a
database update. The IP connection's IP address must be kept in sync throughout the network.
Conflicting IP addresses can cause the system to behave erratically. The system generates a
default value for this field upon creation of the IP connection. This default value is
192.168.200.201 and should be changed as appropriate when configuring the network. To
change the IP address, click on the field. A dialog box appears. Enter the new IP address (do
not include the periods) and click

Static Subnet Mask
4.59 The Static Subnet Mask field defines the IP connection's default network subnet mask
provided by the IP network administrator. Changing the default network subnet mask resets the
IPRC. The default is 255.255.255.0. To change the subnet mask, click on the field. A dialog
box appears. Enter the new subnet mask (do not include the periods) and click
