You may see one of the following error indications.

To set up the RS232 interface between the CPC or CPU and the EVMC, plug one end

of the mod-to-mod line cord into the RS232-C TO CPU jack. Then plug the other end
of the cord into an RS232 port on the CPC or CPU Card. (The RS232-2 port is the pre-
ferred location.) Do not use the Options Card port.
To enable voice path for the EVMC ports, attach one end of the DB15 interface cable

(813.1739) to the DB15 PCM connector on the CPC or CPU Card. Then attach the
other end of the cable to the PCM connector on the front of the EVMC.

Meaning
No DSPM Cards are installed and Voice Process-
ing Unit is shutting down.
Press the POWER DOWN button and wait for the
right LED to light before turning off the equipment
chassis. Then check the EVMC. If there is at least
one DSPM Card, make sure it is seated properly. If
there are no DSPM Cards, install one or two. If
using only one DSPM Card, make sure it is in the
top socket, below the hard drive.
The EVMC PAL not compatible with the CPC or
CPU.
Press the POWER DOWN button and wait for the
right LED to light before turning off the equipment
chassis. Then replace the CPC (or replace the
CPU with a CPU64).
No PAL on the EVMC.
Press the POWER DOWN button and wait for the
right LED to light before turning off the equipment
chassis. Then install the appropriate PAL on the
EVMC. (See
page D-5
for part numbers.)
