C. FEATURE CODES
4.10 The feature codes are preset to carefully selected default values. Changing the codes
can cause existing assignments to be erased. For example, if 300, 305, and 306 are assigned as
feature codes and you attempt to assign 30 as another feature code, you would receive a warn-
ing message, because 30 makes up part of existing codes. The warning message allows you to
change the existing numbers (300, 305, and 306) individually or to leave the existing numbers
unchanged by selecting Cancel.
NOTE:
directory used by Desktop Interface devices that are installed on the system. Those directories
will have to be updated manually. However, any devices installed after the change will have the
new feature code information. Unlike feature codes, extension numbers are updated in the inter-
com directories when the devices are activated and when updates are requested.
4.11 To program individual feature codes: Select its current Feature Code and enter the
new number in the text box (or scroll to an available number). Feature code descriptions can-
not be changed.
4.12 To program several feature codes at once: Highlight the codes you want to change.
Then right-click and select
select the number you want to assign to the first highlighted feature code (the other highlighted
codes will be numbered consecutively after this number). When you select
codes are automatically renumbered and re-sorted in the list.
NOTE:
To highlight two or more items that are not consecutive, hold down CTRL while selecting the
desired items. (You may have to continue to hold SHIFT or CTRL while right-clicking to display
the option without changing the highlighted selections.)
