4.221 The corresponding feature code called Call Logging (feature code 333) is located
under System\Devices and Feature Codes\Feature Codes. This feature allows digital/IP end-
points and IP softphone users to view the missed, received, and dialed call logs on their end-
point. If the endpoint does not support Call Logging or if the Enable Call Logging flag is not
enabled (see above), when the endpoint enters this feature code, the endpoint displays an error
message and receives a corresponding error tone. Non-display endpoints will only receive the
error tone.
NOTE:
to allow local area codes in User Group 1. This default action of the Call Logging feature may
cause local calls that do not require 1+ dialing to be denied at the CO. To prevent such local
area codes from being denied, program them in the Allowed Area Codes field under Sys-
tem\Numbering Plan\User Groups.
Calling Party Name
4.222 This field is similar to the existing "Calling Party Number" field, shown below. It is
used only for ISDN calls to the public network (non-private networking). If this field is pro-
grammed, the system may use this information for the outgoing ISDN setup request message.
You can program up to 20 alphanumeric characters in the box. This field is not used when the
"Send Station Caller ID to Attached PBX," "Propagate Original Caller ID," and/or "Propagate
Original Caller ID on Transfer (for voice mail)" flags are enabled. See "Caller ID Forwarding"
on page 5-77
Calling Party Number
4.223 Each station can be programmed to send an identifying number when a call is placed.
This is called the "Calling Party Number." (In the U.S., this information is required for emer-
gency 911 calls in some states.) You can program any number up to 48 digits in the Calling
Party Number field. However, check with your service provider to determine their specific
requirements for this field. This number will be sent in the ISDN setup message in the Calling
Party Number Information Element. In addition, the System will also send the extension num-
ber of the station in the Calling Party Number Subaddress Information Element. The CO
should ignore this information element if it does not support it. To enter a number, select the
current Value and enter the number in the text box. Then press
to save the change.

Enable Call Logging: Allows you to enable the Call Logging feature. It is set to
Yes by default. When this field is changed to No, the other two Call Logging fields
display a red "X." This indicates all features associated with Call Logging are also
disabled. The screen to the right shows the Call Logging options for a digital end-
point.
Maximum Number of Entries: Allows you to set the maximum number of
entries that can be stored in a call logs list. The valid range is 0 - 20 entries (the
default value is 10).
For U.S. systems, a 1 is pre-pended to return CO calls by default. If needed, be sure
for additional information.
There is no default number for this field. It is up to you to supply the correct Emer-
