T1 ALARMS

4.27 When a T1 Card's Red Alarm LED is flashing, check the error message output to see if
any of the following error conditions have been detected:
Alarm 1, Receiver Loss of Signal from Network: The card is not properly receiving
the T1 signal from the public network. Check for improper connection. If the problem
persists, contact the T1 provider.
Alarm 2, Transmitter Loss of Signal from T1 Card to Network: The card is not
properly transmitting the T1 signal to the public network. Check for improper connec-
tion. If the problem persists, replace the card and return it for repair.
Alarm 3, Receiving Yellow Alarm: The card is receiving a yellow alarm error condi-
tion from outside the system. Check for improper connection or wiring. If the problem
persists, contact the T1 provider.
Alarm 4, Receiving Blue Alarm: The card is receiving a blue alarm error condition
(also called Alarm Indication Signal [AIS]) from outside the system. Check for
improper connection or wiring. If the problem persists, contact the T1 provider.
Alarm 5, T1 Signal Out-of-Frame: There is a problem with the master/slave synchro-
nization or the framing scheme. Check DB Programming. and check for improper con-
nection or wiring. If the problem persists, contact the T1 provider.
Alarm 6, Severely Errored Seconds: Indicates that one or more severe errors have
been detected for at least one second. Check for improper connection or wiring. If the
problem persists, contact the T1 provider.
Alarm 7, Transmitting Blue Alarm: If error condition (1) above is detected (loss of
receive signal), the card sends out a blue alarm signal.
Alarm 8, Remote Loopback State: Currently reserved for engineering diagnostic pur-
poses only.
