IP PORTS

4.77 Each CPC has a 10/100-Base T Ethernet port that allows you to upload Call Processing
software, upload software licenses, and access DB Programming.
NOTE:
4.78 Before you program the IP port, Inter-Tel recommends that you consult the on-site net-
work administrator for information on any standard practices that are followed, including the
use of special characters in hostnames. Providing a static IP address and a hostname is gener-
ally considered the "best" practice.
4.79 To access the IP Port programming options, either double-click the IP Port extension
(PPXXX) at the CPC folder level or select the desired IP port extension from the IP Ports
folder (System\Devices and Feature Codes\IP Ports). You can then program the appropriate
fields as described in this section.
NOTE:
ing you that changes will not take effect until the system is reset.

The description that appears can be up to 20 characters long. The username, that will appear on
display phones, can have up to 10 characters. To program the names, select the desired text
box and type the entry. Do not use slash (/), backslash (\), vertical slash ( | ), or tilde (~) charac-

mask assigned to the IP port. This value may change if using a DHCP or BOOTP server to
