ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM
Hydraulic brake unit: Removal - Refitting

pedal press
Tightening torquesm

bolts on the support
brake pipe unions on
the hydraulic brake unit
IMPORTANT
To avoid all risk of damage to the systems, apply
the safety and cleanliness instructions and opera-
tion recommendations before carrying out any
repair (see 38C, Anti-lock braking system, ABS:
Precautions for the repair, page 38C-3) .
WARNING
Prepare for the flow of fluid, and protect the sur-
rounding components.
REMOVAL
I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION
a Position the vehicle on a two-post lift (see Vehicle:
Towing and lifting) (02A, Lifting equipment).
a Disconnect the battery (see Battery: Removal - Re-
fitting) (80A, Battery).
a Position a pedal press on the brake pedal to limit
the outflow of brake fluid.
a Remove:
- the engine undertray bolts,
- the engine undertray,
- the engine - gearbox assembly (see Engine -
gearbox assembly: Removal - Refitting) (10A,
Engine and peripherals).
8 N.m
13 N.m
a Remove:
- the bulkhead heat-resistant soundproofing clips (1)
,
- the bulkhead heat-resistant soundproofing,
- the air conditioning pipes between the expansion
valve and the condenser (see Condenser - expan-
sion valve connecting pipe: Removal - Refit-
ting) (62A, Air conditioning).
II - OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART
CONCERNED
a Disconnect the hydraulic brake unit connector (2) .
