CHECK CONNECTION OF IGNITION COIL
CONNECTOR
OK
CHANGE IT TO NORMAL IGNITION COIL (WITH
IGNITER) AND PERFORM SPARK TEST AGAIN
NO
CHECK POWER SUPPLY TO IGNITION COIL (WITH
IGNITER)
1. Turn ignition switch to ON.
2. Check that there is battery voltage at ignition coil positive (+)
terminal.

CHECK RESISTANCE OF CAMSHAFT POSITION
SENSOR (See step 3)
Cold
Resistance:
1,630 − 2,740 Ω
OK
CHECK RESISTANCE OF CRANKSHAFT POSITION
SENSOR (See step 4)
Cold
Resistance:
985 − 1,600 Ω
OK
CHECK IGT SIGNAL FROM ECM
(See page DI−187 or DI−486)
OK
REPAIR WIRING BETWEEN IGNITION COIL
AND ECM
2005 CELICA (RM1131U)
IGNITION
If the spark does not occur, do the test as follows:

2,065 − 3.225 Ω

1,265 − 1,890 Ω

Connect securely.

Replace the ignition coil (with igniter).
OK
Check wiring between ignition switch
to ignition coil (with igniter).

Replace the camshaft position sensor.
BAD
Replace the crankshaft position sensor.
BAD
Check ECM (See page IN−30)
BAD

Using a 16 mm (0.63 in.) plug wrench, install the
spark plugs.
Torque: 18 N·m (184 kgf·cm, 13 ft·lbf)

Install the ignition coils (with igniter).

INSPECT SPARK PLUGS
Remove the ignition coils (with igniter).
(See page IG−6)
Using a 16 mm (0.63 in.) plug wrench, remove the spark
plugs.
