SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM
2005 CELICA (RM1131U)
− FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
INSTALLATION
NOTICE:
Never use airbag parts from another vehicle. When replac-
ing parts, replace them with new parts.
1. INSTALL FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the front passenger airbag assembly with the 2
nuts.
(b) Install the bolt.
Torque: 20 N·m (205 kgf·cm, 15 ft·lbf)
CAUTION:
When installing the front passenger airbag assembly,

take care that the wiring does not interfere with other
parts and is not pinched between other parts.
Make sure that no foreign objects are trapped be-
S
tween the airbag bag and within the module.
NOTICE:
If the front passenger airbag assembly has been dropped,
or there are cracks, dents or other defects in the case or
connector, replace the front passenger airbag assembly
with a new one.
(c) Install the airbag wire harness clamp.

2. CONNECT AIRBAG CONNECTOR
(a) Connect the airbag connector.
(b) Install the connector cover to the lower finish panel.
(c) Install the lower finish panel with the 3 screws and 2 bolts.
