If the average diameter of 4 position is greater than maximum,

grind the top of the cylinder.

Using vernier calipers, measure the tension portion diameter of
the bolt.
If the diameter is less than minimum, replace the bolt.

− CYLINDER BLOCK
INSPECT CYLINDER BORE DIAMETER
Using a cylinder gauge, measure the cylinder bore diame-
ter at positions A and B in the thrust and axial directions.
Standard diameter:
1ZZ−FE 79.00 − 79.01 mm (3.1102 − 3.1107 in.)
2ZZ−GE 82.00 − 82.01 mm (3.2283 − 3.2289 in.)
Maximum diameter:
1ZZ−FE 79.13 mm (3.1153 in.)
2ZZ−GE 82.13 mm (3.2335 in.)
Difference limit: 0.10 mm (0.0039 in.)
REMOVE CYLINDER RIDGE
INSPECT 12 POINTED HEAD BEARING CAP SUB−AS-
SEMBLY BOLTS
Standard diameter: 7.3 − 7.5 mm (0.287 − 0.295 in.)
Minimum diameter: 7.3 mm (0.287 in.)
CLEAN PISTON
Using a gasket scraper, remove the carbon from the pis-
ton top.
