REMOVAL
1. REMOVE BATTERY
2. REMOVE ECU BOX (See page EM−76)
3. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT
4. DISCONNECT ENGINE COOLANT RESERVOIR
5. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY
6. 1ZZ−FE:
DISCONNECT ACCELERATOR CABLE
7. 2ZZ−GE:
REMOVE AIR SWITCHING VALVE (See page EC−15)
8. REMOVE DRIVE BELT AND ALTERNATOR
(See page CH−7)
9. REMOVE EXHAUST PIPE (See page EM−76)
10. 1ZZ−FE:
REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD
(a) Remove the 3 bolts and exhaust manifold stay.
(b) Remove the 4 bolts and upper heat insulator.

(c) Remove the 5 nuts, exhaust manifold and gasket.
(d) Remove the 4 bolts and lower heat insulator.

REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD
(a) Remove the 4 bolts and exhaust manifold stay.
(b) Remove the 5 bolts and upper heat insulator.
(c) Remove the 4 bolts, 2 nuts, exhaust manifold and gasket.
(d) Remove the 4 bolts and lower heat insulator.
