Feature Reference
AAR/ARS Dialing without FAC
Call Detail Recording (CDR) (Access Code Dialed/Used fields) — The
Access Code Used
without FAC.
CDR for Intra-Switch Calls — Intra-Switch CDR records report the internal extensions of the calling
and called parties. If a CDR record is to be generated for an intra-switch call, and the output format is
administered as customized, the internal extensions normally reported in the CDR record are replaced by
a prefixed digit string.
CDR Output Extensions — The CDR System Parameters screen allows no more than 5 digits to be
entered for the CDR Primary and Secondary Output Extensions. Therefore, the internal extension of a
data module must be entered; an ARS/AAR Dialing without FAC number cannot be used. If the
extension entered is non-dialable, then the ARS or AAR Digit Conversion form must be used to make it
dialable.
Group Administration — The internal extension must be entered when adding a voice terminal to any
of the following groups, even if ARS/AAR Dialing without FAC is used for on-switch calls: Coverage
Answer Group, Hunt Group, Personal CO, Line Group, Pickup Group, or Terminating Extension Group.
Night Destinations — The extension must be entered for any of the Night Destination extensions
(system-wide, trunk group, trunk member, and per-ISDN-call), even if ARS/AAR Dialing without FAC is
used for on-switch calls.
Security Violations — The internal extension must be entered for the voice terminal to be notified if a
Security Violation occurs, even if ARS/AAR Dialing without FAC is used for on-switch calls.
Trunks - Non-DID — The internal extension must be entered for the Incoming Destination of a non-DID
trunk group (e.g., a CO or automatic-incoming Tie trunk group), even if ARS/AAR Dialing without FAC
is used for on-switch calls.
Limited or unsupported features
The following features are have limitations or are NOT supported for use with ARS/AAR Dialing
without FAC:
Call Center Features (all) — Call Center features are not supported if ARS/AAR Dialing without FAC
is used to reach stations on the switch.
Coverage of Calls Redirected Off Net (CCRON) — The system administrator can use ARS/AAR
Dialing without FAC when entering an off-net destination into a coverage path. For networks in which
users are required to use ARS/AAR Dialing without FAC for on-switch calls, the administrator may find
it easier to use the Remote Call Coverage form even for on-switch coverage points. On a large system,
the potential problem with doing this is that the administrator may run up against the maximum number
of remote coverage points.
Distributed Communication Systems (DCS) — No DCS feature transparency exists on a call placed
using ARS/AAR Dialing without FAC, even if the call travels over a trunk administered for DCS and the
DCS link is active.
Networked directory via DCS — A DCS call cannot be placed using ARS/AAR Dialing without FAC.
Therefore, a customer with the DCS Networked Directory feature has no reason to require ARS/AAR
Dialing without FAC to place a call within a network.

fields recorded by CDR are blank for trunk calls placed using ARS/AAR Dialing
