Music on Hold
Playing of music for the Music on Hold feature requires access to a music source. If that music
travels over a WAN link, then the bandwidth used must be considered. Since there is no need for
the music source to receive a voice path, only one direction of talk path must be taken into
account.
RSVP
The CAC-BL and RSVP features operate independently. The RSVP feature allows calls to reserve
bandwidth of a certain quality, but does not preclude calls from using WAN links if they cannot be
guaranteed the quality. The CAC-BL feature can be used in conjunction with the RSVP feature to
additionally prevent calls from using those oversubscribed WAN links.
Shuffling
Different paths through the network regions are used between endpoints when the call is in the
IP-direct state (no VoIP resources required) and when the call is in the IP-TDM state (VoIP
resources are required). The CAC-BL feature adjusts bandwidth usage to account for calls being
shuffled between IP-direct and IP-TDM states. This calculation of bandwidth usage takes into
account what network regions the endpoints are in and what network regions the VoIP resources
are in for the IP-TDM state. The CAC-BL feature blocks connections from shuffling between
IP-direct and IP-TDM states if, after computing the revised WAN resource usage, the bandwidth
limits are exceeded.
Transfer
Initiating a transfer requires another call appearance to dial another party (or to select another
party on hold). Therefore, the CAC-BL feature must be able to block the transfer, if dialing that
other party would cause bandwidth limits to be exceeded. The CAC-BL feature also must be able
to block the transfer, if transferring the call would cause bandwidth limits to be exceeded.

Calling party/billing number
Calling Party Number/Billing Number (CPN/BN) allows the system to request CPN/BN information
from an AT&T network. The CPN is the calling party's telephone number. BN is the calling party's
billing number. The CPN/BN may contain international country codes. CPN/BN can be used with an
adjunct application.
